Can we open our minds so that our emotions become more flexible? In other words, can we consciously choose to respond to unexpected events and situations in our lives in a more positive, evolutionary way?
Making a choice
The key here is choice. Old habits often get in our way, and our spontaneous reactions are old friends that we’ve held close and honored for a long time. Too long. Maybe it’s time to take the responsibility necessary to change old habits that are more harmful than helpful, to become more flexible in our thoughts, emotions, and consequent behavior.
Transform: With inner strength comes greater flexibility
The more flexible we are, the greater our ability to move, without strain, in any direction that seems beneficial. Our mind and body are infinitely connected. The finest athlete knows that he uses his mind and then his body to perform amazing feats. With more inner strength and flexibility comes the outer strength and flexibility necessary for success.
We are constantly recreating ourselves. The cells in our body are continually being regenerated. It happens automatically. If this is so, then, why not take the opportunity to strengthen our more subtle inner structure by changing our thoughts and our emotions to serve us better.
With the Empowerment Process, we have the opportunity to increase our inner flexibility and ease as we respond to events in our lives. Rather than avoiding feelings and giving in to habitual behaviors, we can take responsibility to transform this “stuck” or disempowering energy. We are able to easily address the change of our conscious and unconscious beliefs, to fulfill our unmet needs and empower ourselves.
Opening your heart
As our changing energy begins to support more positive beliefs, our thoughts and actions become more uplifting and benevolent. Our hearts naturally expand both toward ourselves and others, giving us the opportunity to roll with the tide of evolution.
Whenever we begin to feel pressured by an external event or from habitual disempowering thoughts, this can be the incentive to take note and do an Empowerment Process, in order to effectively release built-up energy. No need to raise blood pressure or boil over! The Empowerment Process® is a tried and true way to dissolve the blocks that plug up the system. We are taking the lid off the intensity to create a new, easy flow.
Try it for yourself
Think of a situation where you would like to become more flexible in your responses to life’s presentations. For example, the EP opportunity for transformation for a coffee addict might be, “I am unable to start my day without an energetic boost.” The habit, as with any habit, may turn in to an addiction. In this case, there is a need to always feel “good” which is supported by the energizing effects of caffeine. The source of the addiction, however, is an emotional fear that, without the boost, you will not be productive and may even become depressed.
Since we are talking about flexibility, any issue that brings up fear or trepidation is worth transforming. — confronting your boss for a raise, a loved-one for attention, or determining what to do about a health issue. No one wants to be wrong, get turned down, or put in jeopardy. In any situation, large or small, we’ll want to be energetically strong in order to make an empowering choice to go forward. The outcome may be something we have no control over, so flexibility in our response is paramount.
We do, however, have control over our actions and choices to make at each point. How well we receive feedback from the environment, especially the unexpected, is a clear barometer of inner strength.
Today, and in the future, become conscious of how you are responding, and take the opportunity to maximize your flexibility. If you have a hard time listening to uncomfortable communication, learn what is going on that keeps you compromised. The Empowerment Process can then support your desire to open your heart and mind to receive, grow, and be safe in your own skin.
